JNAC Launches Anti-Encroachment Drive in Sakchi, Seizes Goods and Fines Several Shopkeepers
JNAC launches encroachment removal drive in Sakchi, seizing goods & fining shopkeepers. Anti-encroachment drive to continue for a safer area.
Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) initiated a drive to remove encroachments along Straight Mile Road in Sakchi on Saturday. Several roadside encroached kiosks and temporary shops were cleared during the drive.
As the JNAC’s flying squad arrived on the scene, shopkeepers scrambled to gather their goods and flee the area.
However, JNAC employees managed to confiscate goods from several shopkeepers who had established their businesses on the roadside.
Later, the JNAC City Manager clarified that Straight Mile Road, which connects Sakchi to Baridih, has been designated as a no-vending zone.
As a result, no kiosks or shops are permitted to operate along the roadside. He added that alternative locations had been provided for vendors, but many had chosen to return to the prohibited area.
In an effort to maintain order and adherence to the no-vending policy, the city manager confirmed that the anti-encroachment drive will continue in the future.
The removal of these unauthorized businesses is expected to improve traffic flow and safety for both pedestrians and drivers in the area.
