Former IPS Dr. Ajoy Kumar flays UP government over killings, condemns fake encounters, and highlights the importance of the rule of law.

JAMSHEDPUR – Former IPS senior Congress leader Dr. Ajoy Kumar criticized the Yogi Adityanath-led UP government over the murders of Atiq and Ashraf, accusing the administration of being unbridled.

Dr. Kumar, speaking to the media on Thursday, suggested that the BJP has a history of orchestrating such incidents before elections and emphasized the importance of respecting all religions.

Dr. Kumar also denounced fake encounters, arguing that they push disciplined police forces towards criminality.

He questioned whether the rule of law is no longer essential for society and pointed out that many renowned encounter specialists in Mumbai were on the payroll of various mafia groups.

The former IPS officer called for a systematic approach to policing and the apprehension of criminals, citing the examples of the legal treatment of Kasab and the accused in the Nirbhaya case.

He stressed the importance of adhering to the rule of law and judicial verdicts.

Dr. Ajoy Kumar further accused politicians of attempting to divide the public to divert attention from critical issues such as unemployment.
