Health Minister Banna Gupta seeks 50,000 Covid-19 vaccines for Jharkhand

State Health Minister attends review meeting with Union Health Minister, demands 2 new nursing colleges for Dhanbad and Jamshedpur.

Jamshedpur: Jharkhand’s Health Minister Banna Gupta attended a review meeting today with Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya regarding the rising cases of Covid-19.

During the video conferencing meeting, Minister Gupta informed Dr. Mandaviya about the increasing cases in the state and the government’s preparations.

Currently, there are 51 Covid-19 patients in the state who have mild symptoms and are in home isolation, according to Gupta.

He said that the state government is keeping a close watch on the situation and is serious about the increasing cases of Covid-19.

Gupta urged Dr. Mandaviya for Covid-19 vaccines, blood separation machines, and other resources.

Several important issues were discussed during the meeting, including a review meeting with all District Collectors, representatives of civil surgeons and medical colleges, and representatives of private hospitals on 9th April.

A mock drill will also be conducted on 10th and 11th April to test the preparedness of Covid-19 in all government hospitals and medical colleges.

Other important points discussed during the meeting were the review of Covid-19 vaccination in the state, availability of oxygen, beds, medicines, and oxygen cylinders in all districts, and the review of manpower and availability of doctors and para-medical personnel in each hospital of the state.

Minister Gupta also placed several important issues on behalf of Jharkhand, including the demand for the installation of blood separation machines from Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, requests to ICMR for the approval of RT PCR labs for Covid-19 testing in Khunti, Lohardaga, Koderma, and Pakur, and a request for a new Government Nursing College in Dhanbad and Jamshedpur.

He also requested the release of the maintenance and manpower of the PSA plant from the amount of NHM and requested Dr. Mandaviya to provide 50 thousand Covid-19 vaccines to Jharkhand.

Dr. Mandaviya assured Minister Gupta that he would take positive initiatives on these issues.
