Tata Steel’s week-long National Safety Day campaign kicks off

Jamshedpur: Tata Steel commenced its 52nd National Safety Day campaign with the hoisting of the Safety Flag at the SHE Excellence Centre in Jamshedpur.

The event was graced by the presence of Sanjiv Paul, Vice President, Safety, Health & Sustainability, Tata Steel, and Rajiv Mangal, Vice President, Safety, Health & Sustainability (Designate), Tata Steel, who both administered the Safety and Health Pledge to all the participants.

National Safety Day is celebrated annually in India on March 4 to mark the establishment of the National Safety Council.

During the event, Sunil Kumar, Head, Workplace Safety, explained the importance of National Safety Day, its observance, and objectives, and administered the Safety and Health Pledge to all participants present.

Sanjiv Paul emphasized the significance of safety professionals’ unwavering commitment to spreading safety awareness without fear, equally and fairly, to attain the Company’s goal of “Committed to Zero”.

Rajiv Mangal expressed his concern about various Lost Time Injuries and highlighted the need to increase engagement with the Contractor workforce to minimize vehicle-related incidents.

The event ended with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Jay Shanker Singh, the Safety Department’s Union Committee Member-Executive, who assured the employees of consistent efforts to enhance Safety Performance.
