Tata Steel marked Worldsteel Day for Safety & Health with a series of initiatives aimed at reinforcing the importance of a safe working environment across its operations.
JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel dedicated Worldsteel Day for Safety & Health to enhancing safety awareness among its employees, underlining its commitment to creating a risk-free workplace.
The company organized a variety of activities, including shopfloor meetings, social media campaigns, and safety awareness sessions, to emphasize adherence to its life-saving rules.
A special webinar on "Excellence in Road Safety" was a key event, drawing employees from various locations to discuss aspects of road safety critical to the company’s operations.
Neeraj Kumar Sinha, Chief of Safety at Tata Steel, opened the webinar with insights into the company’s strategic safety and health priorities and detailed the life-saving rules implemented across its sites.
Rama Shankar Pandey, noted for his expertise in road safety, delivered the keynote address, stressing the importance of Education, Engineering, Enforcement, and Emergency Controls in road safety. He also highlighted recent government and digital initiatives enhancing road safety in India.
Rajiv Mangal, Vice President of Safety, Health & Sustainability at Tata Steel, discussed the role of safety culture in mitigating societal risks and the company’s role in fostering safe behaviors among employees and the broader community.
