Youth Shot Dead In Telco Near Sabuj Kalyan Sangh Puja Pandal
Jamshedpur: A youth, Ranjit Singh, who had come to visit Mahashtami Puja in Sabuj Kalyan Sangh Puja Pandal under the jurisdiction of Telco police station of Jamshedpur, was shot by unknown criminals who were waiting there for his arrival.
Seriously injured youth was rushed to TMH, where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Three bullet wounds have been found in Ranjit’s body.
Police said that Ranjeet had come out of jail on last 20th September itself.
On the occasion of Mahashtami, he had gone to the Sabuj Sangh pandal to offer puja along with his family. However, the criminals were lying in wait for him and they started firing on him as soon as he stopped for a while to chat with friends.
As soon as he was shot, Ranjit fell on the road near the puja pandal.
He was rushed to Tata Main Hospital. The doctors declared him brought dead.
Police sources said that Ranjit also had a police record.
A commotion was caused in the area soon after the firing incident.
As soon as the information was received, Vijay Shankar of City SP reached the site of occurrence and started investigating the matter.
However, this incident has put a question mark over the security situation of the city.
The city police had been claiming that elaborate security arrangements have been made for the puja.
However, this shootout has exposed the chinks in the security establishment’s armour.
