Rising Road Accidents Near Kandra Rail Overbridge Raise Concerns

Unabated traffic accidents in Seraikela-Kharsawan district continue despite administration’s efforts; a recent incident underlines the ongoing issue.

SERAIKELA – The Seraikela-Kharsawan district, it seems, is not getting any respite from traffic accidents any time soon.

Despite all of the district administration’s efforts, neither the rising number of road accidents nor the pace at which cars are traveling are slowing down.

A Sunday afternoon event is the most recent one, on the Kandra overbridge, when an unidentified car struck a motorcyclist.

It resulted in the injury of Dumra resident Bidu Lohar, a motorbike rider.

Following the collision, there was a large group of onlookers on the overbridge, and Kandra police station received their information right away.

As soon as the information was received, Kandra police station arrived on the scene, sent an ambulance to transport the wounded to Gamharia Health Center for better care, and began taking further steps.

Concerns have been voiced about the design and engineering of the railway overbridge since it was built in Kandra on the Chowka-Kandra route.

The contractor that built the roads has constructed a steep curve in the railway overbridge.

As a result, driving heavy automobiles is quite difficult.

Particularly the drivers of large, big freight trucks perspire as they make this abrupt curve.

Additionally, daily accidents occur on the railway overbridges as a result of the sudden curve, and the traffic causes dizziness in many a drivers too.
