Prabhat Kumar takes over as new SSP of Jamshedpur

Dr. M Tamil Vanan fully satisfied with his stint in Jamshedpur, New SSP to focus on community policing

Jamshedpur: Prabhat Kumar, the new SSP of Jamshedpur, has assumed charge. He took over from the outgoing SSP Dr M Tamil Vanan. Earlier, Prabhat Kumar was welcomed by Dr M Tamil Vanan.

After taking over the charge as the new SSP of Jamshedpur, Prabhat Kumar said that he has worked in Jamshedpur earlier too first as Rural SP and then the City SP. He said that his focus will be on community policing as well as maintanining law and order.

He said that good and effective programs being run by the police now will continue. He sought cooperation from the citizens in maintaining law and order.

On the other hand, the outgoing SSP Dr M Tamilavanan described his two-year tenure as an important milestone in his career. He appreciated the cooperation received from the residents. He especially praised the cooperation received from the corporates as well as the media. He said that he also got good cooperation from most of the corporates of the city which proved a great help during fighting an epidemic like corona.

He said that he was satisfied at the fact that no naxal incident or major communal disturbance occurred in the district during his tenure.

In a city with a population of 25 lakhs, there was full cooperation from all the police officers in exposing almost all the big crimes.

He said that he regrets the fact that he was not able to do community policing to the desired level due to paucity of resources.

At the same time, he said, he also regrets that he was not able to complete the blueprint that he had prepared for traffic control.

He said that developing traffic signals and putting CCTV technology to use firmly in the city was also a part of his ambitious plan that he hopes would be implemented in future.

He expressed confidence that Prabhat Kumar would take the ongoing development work forward and do better than him in policing.

He said that Prabhat Kumar is a very talented IPS officer and is capable of taking his work forward.

He said that he would discharge whatever responsibilities are entrusted to him with integrity and honesty.

All the police officers of the city were present on this occasion.
