Ranchi: In a shocking incident, a police jawan fired at his alleged girlfriend for some reason. The girlfriend escaped narrowly. The police jawan has now been taken into custody after a team from Chutia police station reached the site of occurrence.

According to information received from sources, a constable identified as N Kachhap opened fire on his girlfriend in Dhumsa Toli of Chutia police station area.

As soon as the information was received from the people, the patrolling police caught the accused constable N Kachhap.

While confirming the matter, Chutia police station in-charge Ravi Thakur said that the accused constable is being questioned at the police station.

Reasons for the firing and the motive is still not known. Only after the motive is known, the police would proceed with the next course of action and investigation.
