Serengasia Shaheed Sthal to be developed into a tourist spot
Chaibasa MLA Deepak Birua has said that there are plans to develop the historical Shaheed Sthal of Serengasia into a tourist spot. It would be given a facelift with a traditional look by building a museum as well as a watch tower.
Chaibasa: Preparations are afoot to develop Kolhan’s Serengsia Shaheed Sthal as a famous tourist destination.
The historic site will be given a grand traditional look.
The tourist place will become the center of attraction for the people.
On Wednesday, a number of government officials along with Chaibasa MLA Deepak Biruwa inspected the under construction Shaheed Sthal Tourist Place.
The MLA issued directions to the officers to expand the martyrs’ memorial.
The MLA Deepak Biruwa said that the biography of the martyrs will be displayed. Shaheed Smarak will be made grand and attractive with interior decoration too, he added.
The historical pit of Serengsia, where the brave fighters had trapped the British in their trap would be renovated and that historical battle will be depicted by renovating that pit.
He said that on the other side of the martyr memorial, the traditional look of the biography of the martyrs, Museum and life stories of marry Poto Ho, Nara Ho, Punduwa Ho etc. will be displayed.
At the same time, in addition to the changing room, traditional restaurant, a watch tower will also be built.
MLA Deepak Biruwa said that there is a plan to develop Serengsia martyr site a tourist destination so that people can get acquainted with this historical place and the life story of the brave martyrs.
For this, the Serengsia Martyrs Memorial was inspected by an expert team.
A proposal will be prepared and placed before the chief minister of the state, Hemant Soren and a DPR will be prepared soon.
The Deputy Development Commissioner Sandeep Bakshi, Executive Engineer of Minor Irrigation Department JP Singh, Interior Specialist Prem Kumar, AE Raju Mardi, JE Amit Kumar, JE Prashad Pati along with Chairman of Martyrs Memorial Committee Devendra Nath Laguri, Lebeya Laguri, Bamacharan Kunkal and Sidam Laguri were present on the occasion.
