Rly Hospital mgmt should stop negligence: Shashi Mishra

Jamshedpur: A delegation of Railway Mens’ Congress Friday met the Chief Medical Officer of Tata Nagar and urged him to improve the conditions of the Railway Hospital at Tatanagar.

The delegation was led by the Acting General secretary and convenor of the Railway employees’ union Mens’ Congress Shashi Mishra.

The delegation told the CMO that two cases of negligence have come to light in Tatanagar Hospital of South Eastern Railway during the Covid pandemic period.

On receiving information about the negligence, a delegation of Men’s Congress, led by acting general secretary co-convenor Shashi Mishra, met the Chief Medical Officer and demanded immediate steps for improvement.

On Friday, Acting General Secretary Co-convener Shashi Mishra met the Chief Medical Officer of Tatanagar Railway Hospital.

During this, he questioned the mismanagement of the Vaccine Center in the hospital and said that there are instances where the lives of railway workers and their families have been put at risk due to negligence in the hospital.

Shashi Mishra alleged that some doctors posted in Tatanagar Rail Hospital are using the hospital as a laboratory. Instead of referring the patients in time for better medical treatment, they show helplessness after taking the patient to a critical condition.

He said that this is causing problems for the employees.

Mr. Mishra said that there is a possibility of a major mishap in the hospital due to negligence.

He alleged that recently, while an employee on duty, his wife was admitted to the hospital due to sudden deterioration in her health.

After being admitted to the railway hospital for 8 hours, the family members got the patient released and got her admitted in a private hospital. CT Scan showed blood clots in her brain. She was taken to Kolkata Apollo hospital by road.

He alleged that the hospital management wasted 8 crucial hours due to negligence.

He cited the second case, where a loco pilot AK Das was admitted to the railway hospital after being injured in a road accident.

Both his hands and feet were operated on in the Railway Hospital.

After a lot of pain, the loco pilot Mr. Das again went to the hospital. It was learnt that her hand was operated wrongly.

Taking quick action, the hospital management referred him to Telco Hospital for treatment. where he is undergoing treatment.

Shashi Mishra met the hospital’s CMO and urged him to take steps to improve the condition of the hospital.
