AJSU supporters protest Harelal Mahto’s arrest

Jamshedpur: In protest against the arrest of AJSU leader, scores of AJSU supporters burnt the effigy of the Jharkhand government at Sakchi roundabout on Monday.

AJSU leader Appu Tiwari said that due to political ignorance and arrogance of the ruling coalition, the government has got Harelal Mahto arrested and it only underlines the latter’s growing popularity.

He said that the government is acting against the public sentiments.

Demanding immediate release of Harelal Mahto, he said that the party supporters would continue to fight to ensure that he is released as soon as possible.

He said that if the government does not take initiative in releasing him, his party will launch intense agitation.

Harelal Mahto was arrested in connection with cases filed after alleged violation of covid-19 guidelines during a religious function in Nimdih area and subsequent attack on a police team by the locals.

Those who were present during the effigy burning includedSanjay Malakar, Sanjay Singh, Lakhinder Mahto, Savinay Singh, Chandan Singh and Prakash Vishwakarma.

Appu Tiwari, Kamlesh Dubey, Pramod Singh, Jumman Khan, Appu Tiwari, Vimal Maurya, Hemant Pathak, Feroz Khan, Uma Shankar Singh, Chandan Singh, Harry Anthony, Pramod Singh, Sonu Singh, Praveen Prasad, Sanjay Hundreds of workers including Karua, Ankush Kumar, Bajrangi Singh, Sonu Kumar, Lalit Singh were also present.
