Virus breaks 38-day run of no corona death

Jamshedpur: Coronavirus claimed one more life in East Singhbhum on the day the first phase of vaccination drive was launched in East Singhbhum district along with rest of the country. This one death has broken the 38-day run of no-death in Jamshedpur. With this the total death toll due to coronavirus has now reached 375.

According to official data, 15 more active cases of coronavirus were also detected in the district, even while the coronavirus vaccination drive was launched officially at two covid vaccination centres in the district.

The total number of infections in the district has now reached 17,898. On the other hand, 16 patients were also cured and discharged from different hospitals taking the total number of cured to 17,360.

For now, the district has 163 active cases of corona.

The district has tested 4,98,888 samples till date. Out of these 4,89,990 samples have been found negative, while 17,898 have tested positive.

There recovery rate for the district has reached 97.08%, while the mortality rate is at 2.1%. Positivity rate for the district is at 3.59%
