Tata Steel recognised among India’s Best Work Places, for the fourth time

Company has been pioneering worker welfare schemes and community initiatives even during the pandemic, introduced Agile Working Model in 2020

Mumbai: Tata Steel has been certified as a Great Place to Work organisation in India for the fourth time by Great Place to Work® Institute. The annual certification from the Great Place to Work® Institute recognises Tata Steel’s work towards building an organisation of High-Trust and High-Performance Culture.

Since its inception, Tata Steel has been an exemplary showcase for its worker welfare schemes and has positioned itself as a thought leader for its employee engagement initiatives. The Company has implemented trendsetting policies like extending benefits to LGBTQ+ partners, Agile Working Models and Extended Maternity Leave to create an enabling workplace for all diverse groups. The Company’s Diversity & Inclusion Programme ‘MOSAIC’ is enabling diversity of gender, hiring & inclusion of PwDs (Persons with Disability), inclusion of LGBTQ+ and more.

During the pandemic, Tata Steel has undertaken and ensured all preventive and pre-emptive steps related to employee safety. This includes introduction of the POD concept – a modularised form of teams which enables social distancing and minimises the number of workers gathered in one place. The Company also introduced scientific contact tracing through ‘Suraksha Card’, replaced biometric attendance by thermal scanning and radio frequency identification (RFID), to ensure employee safety. Tata Steel recently introduced an Agile Working Model which enables employees to work from any location.
