22 more Covid-19 cases in East Singhbhum on Friday, total 628

Vegetable shops to remain closed from Saturday 3 p.m. till Sunday 7 p.m. in city, intense checking drive on

Jamshedpur: 22 more persons have been found Covid-19 positive in East Singhbhum on Friday. With this, the total number of infected persons in the district has now reached 628.

Out of these 22 fresh cases, four have had a travel history to Mumbai, while two other have a travel history of Kolkata.

Five of these new cases are from Mango, two from Sundarnagar, two from Sakchi, two from Baridih, one from Sidhgora, one from Kadma and one from Birsanagar.

All these positive persons are now being admitted in the Covid ward of local hospitals.

Meanwhile, 25 patients have also been cured and were discharged from the two hospitals in the city.

The district administration has issued orders to keep the vegetable shops closed from Saturday 3 p.m. till Sunday 7 p.m. in whole of Jamshedpur keeping the rapid increase in the number of Covid-19 infected persons.

In view of sharp increase in the number of positive persons in the district, teh administration has started enforcing strict measures. Intense checking drives have been launched in different parts of the city. People without masks are being rounded up.

Today, during one such checking drive, a driver of a double decker bus was stopped. Such double decker buses have been ordered by West Bengal government for deploying in Covid-19 fight.

The number of total infected persons in West Singhbhum is only 93, while the number in neighbouring Seraikela Kharsawan district is 101.

On Thursday, five persons were found Covid-19 positive in East Singhbhum district.

The administration has now made it clear that anyone who goes out in public without wearing a mask would be rounded up and sent to jail.
