Steel City Maintains Top Position in Jharkhand for Fifth Year

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur secured third position nationally in the Swachh Survekshan 2025 results announced under Swachh Bharat Mission, maintaining its leadership in cleanliness standards.

The survey covered cities with populations between 3 lakh to 10 lakh residents. Jamshedpur achieved third rank among all participating cities nationwide. Moreover, the city has maintained its supremacy within Jharkhand state.

For the fifth consecutive year, Jamshedpur emerged as the cleanest city. The achievement demonstrates sustained commitment to sanitation initiatives. Meanwhile, other cities in the state lag behind significantly.

A grand ceremony took place at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi. JNAC Additional Commissioner Krishna Kumar received the prestigious honor. Representatives from municipal bodies across the country attended the function.

The Ministry of Urban Development organized the award ceremony. However, the President conferred the award through official representatives. Municipal officials and urban development experts participated in the event.

“This award belongs to Jamshedpur’s people,” Krishna Kumar stated after receiving recognition. He praised citizens for their exceptional awareness regarding cleanliness. Residents have made sanitation their daily habit successfully.

Furthermore, Kumar thanked Tata Steel and JNAC team members. Their ground-level efforts made the campaign extremely successful. The collaborative approach yielded remarkable results for the city.

Jamshedpur ranks among India’s select industrial cities. The achievement reflects coordinated efforts between administration and citizens. Sustained performance over five years demonstrates institutional commitment.
