POCSO Act convict sentenced to 22 years

Chaibasa: The first court of district and additional sessions judge on Monday sentenced POCSO accused Sunny Lakda to 22 years of rigorous imprisonment. The court also fined him Rs.25000 and in the case of fine not being paid he would have to spend one more year in jail.

According to police sources, a minor girl used to visit the convict’s house for watching TV. On the day of the incident, there was no one in his house and taking advantage of the situation he raped the girl.

A case was registered in this connection in 2019 by the Goilkera police station. Eighter persons had deposed in the case.

The public prosecutor Arun Kumar argued in the case. The ASI Neeraj Kumar had investigated the case and had put the facts of the case before the court.
