Elderly couple hacked to death in Kumardungi, accused arrested

Chaibasa: In a shocking incident, a youth hacked an elderly couple to death late Friday night at 11 p.m. at Chondesai in Khandkhuri village of Kumardungi block in West Singhbhum district. The accused is a nephew of the slain elderly couple.

The accused S Barjo with the help of his elder brother Raghunath Barjo allegedly hacked the couple.

According to the information received, at around 11 o’clock Friday night, some noise was heard outside the house of the accused. When the accused came out he saw a wild boar running away. He chased the boar with an axe and a knife till his uncle’s house.

However, he found his uncle outside the house and he hacked him. Later, he met his aunt and also hacked her to death.

The accused also tried to kill their son. But, he managed to run away and save his life.

He later went to Kumardungi police station and registered a case.

Kumardungi police acted swiftly and arrested the accused. The accused has been sent to judicial custody.
