JAMSHEDPUR – A tragic incident unfolded in Sidgora’s Baridih locality as Govind Prasad Soren, a 32-year-old driver, was found hanging in his home on Thursday evening. His family was away in Rourkela at the time of the incident.

Govind’s body was sent for postmortem on Friday, with police confirming that the investigation is underway to determine the cause behind this extreme step.

Discovery of the Incident

Govind’s elder sister became concerned after repeated phone calls went unanswered. She reached out to one of his friends, who, upon arriving at the house, found the door locked from inside. After knocking failed, neighbors assisted in breaking the door, leading to the grim discovery.

Reaction from Family and Friends

Govind was rushed to MGM Hospital, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival. He worked as a driver at Manipal Hospital. The incident has left his family—comprising his wife, two children, mother, and two sisters—devastated.

“We cannot understand why he would take such a drastic step,” said a close family friend. Police have been informed and have handed over the body to the family after the postmortem.
