MEDININAGAR – Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr. L Murugan inspected the Doordarshan and All India Radio center in Daltonganj’s Bariya area amid appeals for revival of cultural programming.
Artists from the Palamu division welcomed the minister during his visit. They highlighted their concerns about the center’s current state.
“Cultural program recordings have been suspended for many years,” said Shishir Shukla, President of Palamu Folk Art Culture Forum. Moreover, this has disappointed both artists and music enthusiasts.
Minister’s Response
Dr. Murugan assured prompt action on the artists’ demands. “The recording of cultural programs will resume soon,” a senior official quoted the minister.
Meanwhile, the artists expressed gratitude to Palamu MP Vishnu Dayal Ram. Furthermore, over 40 local artists attended the interaction with the minister.
Additional Demands
The casual announcers at the radio station presented their memorandum to the minister. “We request an increase in the retirement age limit beyond 60 years,” an announcer stated.
Additionally, they sought removal of the six-day monthly duty limit. However, the current regulations restrict their work duration.
