60-Year-Old Bene Bala Mahato’s Body Discovered in Field, Police Suspect Heat Stroke

In a tragic incident, the decomposed body of 60-year-old widow Bene Bala Mahato was discovered in a field 50 meters away from the road in Pathardanga of Kadamasholi village, Jugitopa Panchayat, Chakulia police station area, on Monday, raising suspicions about the circumstances surrounding her death.

JAMSHEDPUR – The peaceful village of Pathardanga in Kadamasholi, Jugitopa Panchayat, was shocked by the discovery of the lifeless body of Bene Bala Mahato, a 60-year-old widow, in a field just 50 meters away from the road on Monday.

According to reports, Bene Bala Mahato had left her village on Saturday morning to collect grain from the ration shop of Khodi Pahadi Mahila Samuh in Sonahara village, located three kilometers away.

She had received 19 kg of grains at the shop at 1:20 pm, and Ramavati Mahali of the women’s group confirmed that Bene Bala Mahato had departed with the grains at 7:30 am on Saturday.

Villagers reported that the sack of grains was initially kept near the road, but it went missing by Monday.

The gruesome discovery was made by the deceased’s brother-in-law, Sunil Mahato, when he visited the field on Monday morning, leading to a gathering of villagers at the scene.

The deceased’s sons, Laltu Mahato and Poltu Mahato, along with Gram Pradhan Bharat Singh Munda, Panchayat Samiti member Bubai Das, ward member Sukumar Mahato, and Mukhiya representative Rajendra Nath Soren, also reached the spot upon learning about the incident.

Police suspect that Bene Bala Mahato might have succumbed to extreme heat while returning home with the grains.

SI Ajit Kumar of the police station arrived at the scene with the police force to investigate the matter and ascertain the cause of death.

The tragic incident has left the village in a state of shock and mourning, as they grapple with the loss of a member of their community under mysterious circumstances.

The police are conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind Bene Bala Mahato’s untimely demise and bring closure to her grieving family and the village.
