Workers Protest at Tinplate Company Gate

Labourers Demand Reinstatement and Pending Dues Clearance

Key Points:

  • Workers protest sudden termination at Tinplate company gate
  • Sixteen labourers allege unpaid dues since October 2025
  • Union warns of intensified agitation after 15-day deadline

JAMSHEDPUR – Workers staged a protest demanding reinstatement and pending payments after alleged sudden termination from Tinplate operations.

Workers under a joint trade union banner protested at the company gate. They raised slogans against management during the demonstration.

Meanwhile, labour leader Ambuj Thakur submitted a memorandum to officials. He stated that nursery workers served under A.B. Construction since August 2019.

However, their services ended abruptly on October 31, 2025. Workers claimed they were denied final settlement payments.

Moreover, labourers said they worked continuously despite contractor changes. They alleged dues remain unpaid despite repeated requests.

Meanwhile, another contractor handled nursery work for six months. Workers said they were re-engaged during that period.

However, A.B. Construction has now regained the contract. Workers claimed 16 labourers were not rehired despite prior service.

Moreover, they said their pending wages are still unpaid. This has created financial distress for affected families.

Meanwhile, protesters stated they worked at the Jamshedpur facility for several years. They added that contractor changes never affected their employment earlier.

However, the sudden removal has disrupted their livelihood. Workers described the situation as a serious economic crisis.

Moreover, union leader Thakur issued a warning to management. He said further action would follow if demands remain unmet.

Meanwhile, the union has given a 15-day deadline. It demanded reinstatement and clearance of all pending dues.

However, failure to act may trigger a larger agitation. The union warned of intensified protests in coming weeks.
