JAMSHEDPUR – Sudha Gupta formally assumed charge as Mayor of the Mango Municipal Corporation on Friday, in a ceremony held at the civic body’s office.

Deputy Mayor Rahul Kashyap and Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar were both present at the occasion. Moreover, the two officials welcomed the incoming mayor with bouquets of flowers.

Following the formal assumption of charge, Gupta met with the corporation’s staff. She pledged to work collaboratively with all employees for better outcomes.

Speaking to the media, Gupta said that resolving public grievances would be her top priority. She assured that development work would be accelerated with the cooperation of all municipal officials and staff.

In addition, she stated that better civic amenities would be made available to residents of the area. Gupta had earlier paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Hemant Soren shortly after her election victory.

Gupta’s election as Mango Municipal Corporation mayor came after a keenly contested race. Meanwhile, a Congress candidate had been suspended by her party during the run-up to the mayoral election.
