Seven Arrested in Golmuri for Planning Crime

Police Seize Pistol, Cartridges and Scorpio in Late-Night Raid

JAMSHEDPUR – Seven youths were arrested in Golmuri after police raided a room where they were allegedly planning a crime and seized weapons, a vehicle and cash.

The raid was carried out in Sabina Colony under Golmuri police station limits in Jamshedpur. Officers said the accused had gathered inside a room late at night.

Meanwhile, City SP Kumar Shivashish disclosed the details on Thursday. He said the team acted on specific information.

However, when police arrived, the suspects attempted to flee. Officers chased them and caught all seven men.

Moreover, the arrested youths belong to Kapali Dangudih and Dhatkidih. Others are residents of Golmuri Muslim Basti, Hindu Line and Sabina Colony.

During the search, police recovered one country-made pistol. In addition, seven live cartridges were seized.

On the other hand, a Scorpio vehicle was also found at the spot. Officers further recovered a chopper, a bhujali and a knife.

Meanwhile, cash amounting to Rs 22,500 was confiscated. Police said the items indicated preparation for a criminal act.

However, a case has been registered against all accused. They were produced before court and sent to judicial custody.

In contrast, Golmuri police have conducted similar crackdowns earlier. Recently, four criminals were arrested while planning a crime in the city.

Moreover, in another case, three gang members were held for firing incidents. Police had also arrested two accused in the Cable Town shooting case.

Meanwhile, earlier operations led to six arrests in firing cases. In addition, police once arrested three suspects in a brutal attack probe.

Police said surveillance has been intensified in sensitive pockets. Further investigation in the present case is underway.
