JAMSHEDPUR – Police arrested six alleged criminals with firearms in Golmuri and detained an aide of a Jugsalai gangster during a raid near a mosque.
The operation took place in the Jamshedpur Golmuri police station area. It was conducted at a residential quarter near a mosque.
Police acted on confidential information. Moreover, officers were told a major crime was being planned.
A raiding team moved swiftly to the location. Meanwhile, suspects were found gathered inside the quarter.
Zeeshan alias Jishu was arrested from the spot. He is considered close to a gangster from Jugsalai.
Numan, Faiz and Chand were also detained. In addition, two other accused were taken into custody.
Police recovered three pistols during the search. Moreover, a large quantity of live cartridges was seized.
The recovery created tension in the locality. However, no injuries were reported during the raid.
Officials said Zeeshan recently secured bail. He had been jailed in a murder case.
Investigators suspect a serious offense was being plotted. Meanwhile, all accused are being interrogated.
