JAMSHEDPUR – A major fire broke out at a tent warehouse in Bhuiyandih Chhaya Nagar, triggering panic before being controlled.

The incident occurred on Sunday at the Nandan Tent House godown under Sitaramdera police station limits. Flames and thick smoke spread rapidly, alarming nearby residents.

Meanwhile, locals informed police and the fire department immediately. Swift administrative response helped avert a larger disaster.

On the other hand, one fire tender from Tata Steel and two from the Jharkhand government reached the spot. Firefighters began operations without delay.

Moreover, personnel worked intensively to contain the blaze in time. The fire was fully controlled after sustained efforts.

However, officials said nearby houses and shops faced serious risk. Timely control prevented potential spread and damage.

Meanwhile, Sitaramdera police station in-charge Niranjan Kumar confirmed the response. He stated teams reached the site promptly.

In contrast, preliminary investigation pointed to a short circuit as the cause. However, the exact reason will be confirmed after inquiry.

Moreover, assessment of losses is currently underway. Tents, fabrics, and stored materials are feared damaged.

The godown is located in Bhuiyandih, a densely populated area of Jamshedpur. Officials said further details will emerge after inspection.
