RANCHI – The process to elect the Jharkhand BJP state president has officially begun. Pradeep Verma, BJP state general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP, has been appointed as the election officer for the state, supported by Ganesh Mishra, Sunita Singh, and Durga Marandi as co-election officers.

Election Process Initiated

The appointments followed a letter from current state BJP president and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi to central election officer Dr. K. Laxman. Marandi had requested the initiation of the election process. Dr. Laxman subsequently issued a formal notification confirming these appointments.

Currently, the BJP in Jharkhand is conducting a membership drive. Once the primary membership phase concludes, the process for active membership will commence. The election of the state president will follow the election of the BJP’s national president, expected after the membership drive across all states is completed.

Raghubar Das Among Leading Contenders

Former Odisha Governor Raghubar Das is seen as a prominent candidate for the Jharkhand BJP leadership. Das recently resigned from his gubernatorial position, expressing his desire to serve in Jharkhand, his “karmabhoomi.”

Babulal Marandi Praises PM’s “Mann Ki Baat”

Meanwhile, Babulal Marandi lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” program as an inspiring and informative initiative. Referring to the 117th episode, he highlighted how the program showcased India’s cultural heritage, progress, and unity.

Marandi also noted the significance of the upcoming Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, as discussed by PM Modi. He emphasized that India’s diversity symbolizes its unity and strength, making the Kumbh Mela a living example of this spirit.
