JAMSHEDPUR – Kumkum Srivastava announced her decision to contest the Mango Municipal Corporation mayor election.

She is the wife of former BJP district president Rajkumar Srivastava. However, she said the campaign would focus on development concerns.

She stated that power and drinking water remain Mango’s biggest problems. Therefore, she promised solutions if elected mayor.

She said her husband remained a committed and alert BJP worker. Moreover, she said his public connect would benefit her campaign.

She expressed confidence of strong public support in Mango. Meanwhile, she said development would remain the central campaign plank.

Rajkumar Srivastava also spoke about the upcoming election. However, he clarified that the mayoral poll is non-party in nature.

He said he still expected BJP’s moral support during elections. On the other hand, he stressed that no party symbol would be used.

He said Mango also faces serious education challenges for women. Moreover, girls must travel to Sakchi and Bistupur for higher studies.

He said the area lacks a good college for women. Therefore, this issue would be raised strongly during campaigning.

The Mango mayoral contest has seen multiple political developments recently. Meanwhile, RJD raised demands in the OBC reservation debate.

Earlier, another candidate had entered the mayoral race. In contrast, leaders like Saryu Roy have spoken on broader civic politics.
