– Hospital staff and 50 outsourced workers to be assigned for the OPD.

JAMSHEDPUR – The MGM Medical College’s new hospital in Mango is almost ready to launch OPD services after a thorough inspection by top officials.

On Sunday, Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Manish Kumar and Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Shatabdi Majumdar visited the new MGM hospital to assess its readiness for OPD services.

They examined the facilities to ensure that departments, registration counters, and pharmacies were appropriately set up.

The availability of essential services like water and electricity was also reviewed.

DDC Kumar, along with the hospital’s administration, inspected every aspect of the hospital, including discussions with the college principal, Dr. D. Hansda, and the hospital superintendent, Dr. Shikha Rani.

“We are very close to being operational, with just minor adjustments to be made,” shared an official familiar with the situation.

During the inspection, officials also ensured that there were plans for where specific OPD services, registration counters, and the pharmacy would be located.

The facility is in its final stages of preparation, and efforts are being made to address any remaining issues before the OPD opens to the public.

Staffing Arrangements Finalized

To run the OPD smoothly, the administration has made arrangements to ensure that the necessary medical staff is in place.

Dr. Jujhar Manjhi, Deputy Superintendent of MGM Hospital, explained that all department heads (HODs) have been instructed to assign two doctors from each department for the new OPD.

In addition to the medical staff, around 50 workers will be hired through outsourcing to support various hospital functions.

Dr. Manjhi confirmed that the water supply needs of the hospital have been addressed by installing a borewell.

Meanwhile, electricity connections have also been established, ensuring that the facility is fully equipped to handle its operations.

Furniture and Other Equipment Setup

As part of the final preparations, furniture such as tables and chairs is being brought in from the college library to furnish the OPD area.

This practical approach ensures that the OPD is ready to accommodate both medical staff and patients when it begins operations.

With all key components nearly in place, the new OPD facility at MGM Medical College is expected to open soon, providing much-needed services to the local community.
