JAMSHEDPUR – A late-night road accident near Ulidih claimed the life of a motorcycle rider, police said.
The accident occurred near Pinky Hotel, around 200 meters from Ulidih police outpost. The incident happened close to midnight, according to police officials.
However, the victim was struck by an unidentified vehicle while returning home. The impact left him critically injured on the road.
The deceased was identified as Sirajuddin Ansari. He lived in a rented house in Jamshedpur.
Moreover, he was a resident of Hayatnagar Dimna Basti. The locality falls under Ulidih Road Number Five.
According to his younger brother, Faiyaz Alam, the victim worked as a driver. He was employed at Spectra Super Alloys Limited in Kandra.
After finishing work, he was returning home on his motorcycle. On the other hand, the accident occurred before reaching his residence.
Meanwhile, passersby informed the police about the injured man. Police teams reached the spot soon after.
The injured man was taken to MGM Hospital for treatment. Doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Subsequently, police took custody of the body. It was sent for post-mortem examination.
Officials said the identity of the vehicle remains unknown. Further investigation is underway.
The deceased is survived by four children. He was originally a resident of Chapra.
Road accidents have continued to claim lives in and around Jamshedpur. Similar cases were earlier reported from nearby areas.
In recent months, fatalities were reported in Gamharia protests. Another incident involved a young engineer.
Earlier, accidents were also reported on Seraikela-Kandra road. Authorities continue to monitor accident-prone stretches.
