Over 300 Climbers from Four Nations to Compete in Three-Day Event

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel Adventure Foundation will organize the sixth edition of Tata Steel Climbing Championship from January 24 to 27 at JRD Tata Sports Complex.
The international competition will feature more than 300 climbers. They represent four countries including India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Nepal. Jamshedpur will host this prestigious sporting event for four days.
Three climbing disciplines will be contested during the championship. These include speed climbing, lead climbing and boulder climbing events. Moreover, competitions will be organized across multiple age categories.
The age groups include Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15. In addition, Under 17 and Open categories will also compete. The format ensures participation from young talents and elite climbers alike.
A flag hoisting ceremony is scheduled for January 26. It will begin at 9:45 AM at TSAF Climbing Academy premises. D.B. Sundara Ramam will attend as chief guest at the ceremony.
He serves as Vice President of Corporate Services at Tata Steel. The ceremony will celebrate sportsmanship, unity and national pride. Furthermore, prize distribution will follow the flag hoisting event.
Cultural programs will also be organized on Republic Day. These activities will add festive spirit to the sporting competition. Meanwhile, the previous edition saw remarkable performances from participants.
The closing ceremony will take place on January 27. Outstanding performers across all categories will receive recognition. On the other hand, TSAF Academy has dominated recent competitions with consistent victories.
Speed relay event finals will conclude the championship. These final matches promise thrilling moments for spectators and participants. However, the event offers more than competitive climbing alone.
A painting competition will run from January 24 to 26. Children can participate between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM daily. Besides this, wellness activities include golf putting and Zumba sessions.
These recreational programs will provide holistic sports and cultural experiences. All participants can enjoy these complementary activities during the championship. Moreover, TSAF athletes have won medals at international competitions recently.
