TSAF Set to Host India’s Largest Sport Climbing Championship

270 Athletes from 5 Nations to Compete at JRD Complex Event

The 5th Tata Steel Sport Climbing Championship features participants from Russia, Nepal, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and India.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel Adventure Foundation will host its flagship sport climbing championship at JRD Complex from January 24.

India leads participation with 243 athletes. Meanwhile, Kazakhstan follows with 12 participants in the event.

The championship features multiple age categories. Moreover, competitors will showcase skills in lead and bouldering disciplines.

International Participation

Russia and Uzbekistan send four athletes each. Additionally, Nepal contributes seven participants to the event.

The competition spans various age groups. Furthermore, categories range from kids aged 6-9 to open category above 18.

Competition Format

Athletes will compete in lead and speed events. Meanwhile, special categories include top rope and speed relay.

“This championship nurtures future Olympians,” remarked a senior organizer. Moreover, winners receive recognition across categories.

Previous Achievements

TSAF hosted international championships in 2022 and 2023. Additionally, the 2024 Asian Youth event featured 189 athletes.

The foundation provides world-class climbing infrastructure. Furthermore, the facility maintains Olympic-standard training equipment.
