Yuvraj Sandhu Claims Record Seventh Title at TATA Open 2025
Chandigarh Golfer Secures One-Shot Victory in Season Finale at Jamshedpur

JAMSHEDPUR – Yuvraj Sandhu captured a record seventh title in 2025 with a one-stroke triumph at the TATA Open, capping his historic season with total earnings of INR 1.91 crore.
The 28-year-old golfer finished with 20-under 264. He shot a final round 65. His decisive birdie on the 18th hole sealed victory.
Sandhu earned INR 30 lakh as winning prize. His season total reached INR 1,91,67,100. This surpassed Veer Ahlawat’s 2024 record of INR 1,56,35,724.
The Chandigarh-based professional broke the previous single-season wins record. Manu Gandas held the earlier mark of six titles. That record stood since 2022.
Sandhu secured his DP World Tour card for 2026. He topped the PGTI Ranking. Moreover, he posted seven other top-10 finishes this year.
Shubham Jaglan delivered a bogey-free 66 in round four. The 21-year-old totaled 19-under 265. However, he finished second in only his third PGTI appearance.
Khalin Joshi and Veer Ahlawat tied for third. Both shot 66 in the final round. They finished at 14-under 270.
The tournament was played across Beldih and Golmuri Golf Courses. The INR 2 crore event marked PGTI’s season finale. The combined par was 71.
Sandhu started strong with birdies on the first two holes. He converted putts from seven to eight feet. On the other hand, he collected additional birdies on sixth and ninth.
Two bogeys on the back-nine couldn’t upset his rhythm. His ball-striking remained immaculate. Furthermore, his 15-feet birdie conversion on 18th delivered the knockout punch.
Jaglan turned professional earlier this year. He stayed neck and neck with Sandhu throughout the day. The Gurugram-based player made three front-nine birdies.
“I was determined to end the season with good performance,” Sandhu said. “Standing on the birdie putt, I just wanted enough pace.” In addition, he noted the line and speed proved perfect.
Sandhu praised his competitor’s performance. “Hats off to Shubham for competing hard,” he said. “He played really well and is destined for bigger things.”
The champion reflected on his historic season. “Winning a record seven titles has been special,” he stated. Besides, he ticked important boxes like winning at Delhi Golf Club.
Sri Lankan N Thangaraja finished second on PGTI Ranking. He earned INR 1,18,21,821 this season. Meanwhile, he secured fifth place at Jamshedpur with 13-under 271.
Thangaraja won three PGTI titles this year. The three-time winner finished distant second in rankings. His consistent performance marked the season.
Rounds one and two split the field. Half played at Beldih Golf Club. The other half competed at Golmuri Golf Club.
Leading groups in rounds three and four played differently. They started front-nine at Golmuri. Subsequently, they moved to Beldih for back-nine.
TATA Steel sponsored the event. The company ranks among top global steel producers. It has annual crude steel capacity of 35 million tonnes.
Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata founded the company in 1907. The establishment took place in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Today it maintains operations across the world.
PGTI receives year-round support from tour partners. These include Rolex, Amul, and IndusInd Bank. Other sponsors are Victorious Choice and Campa.
Jamshedpur’s Kurush Heerjee finished tied 51st. He scored 13-over 297. Local representation marked the tournament.
Manoj S won PGTI Emerging Player of the Year. The 17-year-old rookie earned INR 37,21,945. His earnings topped all first-year players.
The Bengaluru golfer finished tied 12th at six-under 278. He secured 21st position on Order of Merit. Furthermore, he posted seven top-10s this season.
