Horticultural Society Unveils Topiary-Themed Exhibition Running Through January 1

JAMSHEDPUR – The Horticultural Society Jamshedpur will organize its 35th annual flower show from December 28, 2025, through January 1, 2026.

The grand exhibition will take place at Gopal Maidan. This year’s theme is “Topiary” with the tagline celebrating floral artistry. The tagline reflects the city’s vibrant cultural heritage through flowers.

Sumita Nupur, the society’s president, announced the event details. Dr. Anuradha Mohapatra, the general secretary, also attended the press conference. Moreover, all executive members participated in the briefing.

The show opens on December 28 at 2:00 PM. It will close at 9:00 PM that day. However, from December 29 onwards, timings extend from 9:00 AM daily.

Ten competition categories will feature 208 distinct sections. Both amateur enthusiasts and institutions can participate. Furthermore, the categories welcome diverse horticultural displays.

The exhibition will showcase flowering plants and fruit varieties. Vegetable plants will also be displayed prominently. Additionally, medicinal and ornamental plants complete the botanical collection.

Expert horticulturists from Kolkata will attend the event. Specialists from Bhubaneswar and Ranchi have confirmed participation. Meanwhile, exhibitors from Pune and Kalimpong will showcase their expertise.

Forty-one nursery stalls will offer plants and gardening supplies. Fifteen food stalls will provide culinary options for visitors. In addition, these amenities enhance the overall experience.

The flower competition begins on December 28 at 10:00 AM. It continues until 1:00 PM that day. The inauguration ceremony follows at 3:30 PM.

Technical workshops are scheduled for December 29 and 30. Sessions run from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Another workshop slot operates from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM.

Cultural programs will entertain visitors on December 29 and 30. These performances start at 6:00 PM each evening. They conclude at 7:00 PM both days.

A sit-and-draw competition takes place on December 30. The artistic event runs from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The prize distribution ceremony occurs on December 31 at 4:00 PM.

The previous year’s flower show featured prestigious award ceremonies. Last year’s 34th annual exhibition attracted large crowds to the venue. The horticultural society has consistently organized successful events annually. Noamundi and Bokaro have also hosted similar horticultural exhibitions recently.
