JAMSHEDPUR – A mobile cancer screening van was donated to Meherbai Tata Memorial Hospital by Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West during the launch of Tata Steel Foundation’s screening initiative.

Tata Steel Foundation launched the Mobile Cancer Screening Unit yesterday. Jamshedpur Cancer Society collaborated in the initiative. The screening van was formally inaugurated during the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Rotary Global Grant provided primary funding. Individual contributions came from 54 Rotarians across the community. Their families and friends also participated financially.

However, RSB Foundation added CSR support. The foundation contributed additional resources for the project. Multiple funding sources strengthened the initiative’s foundation.

The mobile unit will deliver doorstep screening services. Oral cancer detection forms one component. Breast and cervical cancer screenings complete the package.

Moreover, underserved rural communities will receive priority access. Kalinganagar residents will benefit from the service. Meramandali area has been included in coverage.
