Assembly uproar over scholarship and paddy issues

Opposition MLAs stage protests inside and outside House

Key Points:

  • Winter session saw loud protests
  • Opposition raised scholarship delays
  • Paddy purchase lag drew strong attack

JAMSHEDPUR – A stormy second day of the winter session saw opposition MLAs intensify protests over delays in scholarships and paddy procurement.

Opposition members carried placards. However, they also raised slogans.

Moreover, they targeted the government over stalled student aid.

The House witnessed chaos. On the other hand, disruptions halted proceedings.

Opposition MLAs alleged that paddy purchase delays hurt farmers. They demanded swift action.

Meanwhile, members gathered at the gate. They pushed for a debate.

A legislator said, “The issues remain ignored. The farmers feel abandoned.”

Inside the chamber, scenes turned heated. Besides, demands for accountability grew.

The uproar echoed concerns seen earlier during similar protests. These included calls linked to the exam leak protest and past suspension protests.

In addition, lawmakers recalled earlier ruckus over tribal issues.

However, they said the present crisis demanded urgent remedies. They sought immediate government response.

Outside the House, the agitation gained momentum. Moreover, party workers joined the chorus.

Several participants compared the tone to last year’s Assembly protest. They pressed for clarity.

Later, members noted that past tensions like the territory proposal protest still influenced debates.

In contrast, the government stated that discussions would be held.
