JAMSHEDPUR – Pratham Swar is set to hold its annual Classical Music Conference on December 13 at the Swami Vedananda Cultural Hall of Bharat Sevashram Sangha.
The organisation said the programme will showcase senior artistes. Moreover, musicians from Jamshedpur, Ranchi and Kolkata will feature in the event.
In addition, the initiative aims to promote Indian classical traditions before a discerning audience.
The schedule includes a vocal recital by Anil Kr Singh of Jamshedpur. Besides, he will be supported by Kartick Karmakar on tabla and Manmohan Singh on harmonium.
The lineup also features a tabla solo by Pt Sujit Saha of Kolkata.
Pt Sanatan Goswami will accompany on harmonium for two performances. Moreover, he joins both Pt Saha and Pt Subhomoy Bhattacharya.
The latter will deliver a classical vocal presentation with Swarup Moitra on tabla.
A sitar recital by Debapriya Thakur of Ranchi is also planned. Meanwhile, Amitava Sen will provide tabla support.
Organisers stated that admission remains free for all visitors.
A source linked to the event said the conference continues past efforts to highlight classical artistry. “It is our attempt to bring rich traditions to the city,” the voice said.
Officials identified the organising team as Secretary Devarghya Roy, Assistant Secretary Kartick Karmakar and Convener Krishnendu Paul.
