Key Points:

JAMSHEDPUR – Hundreds of tribal community members from various villages joined the Bharatiya Janata Party during a campaign led by former Chief Minister Champai Soren in Ghatshila.
Tribals from Jhatijharna panchayat joined the party recently. Meanwhile, residents from Gudabandha block villages became BJP members today. Traditional village heads also participated in the enrollment.
The BJP is contesting the Ghatshila by-election. Babulal Soren is the party’s candidate. However, the constituency has traditionally supported JMM candidates.
Village residents cited lack of development as their reason. “We elected JMM candidates as legislators and ministers,” said a local resident. Basic amenities remain inadequate despite years of representation.
Road infrastructure is insufficient in the area. Moreover, drinking water facilities are lacking. Education and healthcare services also need improvement.
Champai Soren addressed the gathering at the event. “BJP is heading toward a historic victory,” he said. The former chief minister claimed only BJP guarantees development.
He alleged Bangladeshi infiltrators occupy government lands. Phulpal, Jugisol, and Bedia areas face this problem. Social lands are also being encroached upon illegally.
“Tribals and original residents must unite,” Soren warned. He emphasized protecting the community’s existence. The statement targeted preserving tribal identity and heritage.
The former CM criticized the state government’s actions. He referenced the Chaibasa lathicharge incident recently. “Your government orders lathicharge and tear gas,” he stated.
In addition, he mentioned FIRs and arrests. “Stop fooling the people,” Soren demanded. His remarks targeted the ruling dispensation’s handling of protests.
Suraju Tudu from Desh Pargana attended the campaign. He represents the Santhal Pargana region. Tudu urged tribals to support Babulal Soren.
“Protect your society, heritage, and existence,” Tudu said. He warned about demographic changes in neighboring areas. Pakur district’s tribal population has become minority, he claimed.
The enrollment drive continues across Ghatshila constituency. Furthermore, village heads are mobilizing support for BJP. Traditional community leaders are backing the party’s candidate.
