JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur Municipal Corporation and Giridih Municipal Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding under the Swachh City Pairing program. The agreement took place in the presence of Union ministry officials.
Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar represented Jamshedpur, while Giridih’s municipal commissioner attended with officers. The initiative was launched simultaneously across the country.
Krishna Kumar stated that Jamshedpur secured the top spot in Jharkhand’s cleanliness rankings this year. Under the program, Giridih’s officers will spend 100 days in Jamshedpur.
During this period, they will study waste management, sanitation practices, and cleanliness operations. The aim is to replicate the strategies in Giridih to improve its cleanliness performance.
Giridih’s Municipal Commissioner said that such initiatives provide valuable lessons. He added that after the training, efforts would be made to bring Giridih to the top position.
He further said that a clean city ensures a healthy environment for residents.
