JAMSHEDPUR – A shocking murder was reported near Pipla’s Bhaga Bandh forest along NH-33 in Jamshedpur on Saturday.
Police said that 34-year-old Parshuram Tudu was beaten to death with sticks and branches. His wife, Suman Tudu, was arrested, while her lover, Lachhu Hansda of Hendaljudi, Galudih, remains on the run.
The incident came to light on Sunday when villagers found Parshuram’s body in the forest. They immediately informed police, who recovered the body and sent it for postmortem. Villagers expressed anger after learning of the involvement of his wife and her lover.
Investigations revealed that Parshuram had gone to the fields with Suman on Saturday afternoon. Later, Suman returned home, but Parshuram never came back. The next morning, villagers found his body with severe head injuries.
During interrogation, Suman admitted to her relationship with Lachhu. She confessed that both had gone to the forest to meet. When Parshuram arrived there, a fight broke out, leading to the fatal assault. After the killing, Suman returned home and misled her family by saying her husband had gone to the market.
The couple’s two children, a son and a daughter, are left without parental care. Villagers are outraged at the betrayal and are demanding immediate arrest of Lachhu Hansda.
SP Rural, Rishabh Garg, said, “The motive appears to be an affair. The wife has confessed, and the suspected lover is being traced. He will be caught soon. Investigation is ongoing.”
