JAMSHEDPUR – Leaders and supporters gathered at Michael John Auditorium in Jamshedpur on Sunday to pay tribute to late Dishom Guru Shibu Soren and former Education Minister Ramdas Soren.
The programme was organized under the banner of Guruji Vichar Manch. Along with floral tributes, a signature campaign was launched demanding Bharat Ratna for Shibu Soren.
All JMM legislators and ministers from Kolhan division attended the programme, along with office bearers of various wings and local social organizations.
Jugsalai MLA Mangal Kalindi addressed the gathering. He recalled that Shibu Soren led the struggle for a separate Jharkhand, rising from his village Nemra to fight for statehood. Kalindi said that the separate state was achieved due to Guruji’s relentless fight.
He added that people from all sections respect him as the messiah of Jharkhand’s tribals. “The Government of India must confer Bharat Ratna on him to give due recognition,” Kalindi said.
