JAMSHEDPUR – Ulidih outpost police have arrested three young men for demanding extortion money and uploading viral photos with weapons on social media platforms.

The arrested individuals include Ritesh Singh, Ashok Gupta, and Rajkumar Mukhiya alias Raj Baccha. Police took them into custody after a targeted operation. Moreover, all three have been sent to judicial custody following interrogation.

Patamda DSP held a press conference on Tuesday to announce the arrests. He provided detailed information about the police operation. However, the investigation revealed serious criminal activities by the accused.

The police formed a special team after the matter came to light. Officers conducted thorough investigation into the extortion allegations. Besides, they tracked the viral social media posts containing weapon displays.

“The accused were demanding extortion money from local residents,” a police source stated. They also uploaded photographs brandishing weapons on various platforms. Furthermore, these posts went viral and created fear among citizens.

Police seized weapons and mobile phones during the arrest operation. The team recovered evidence linking the accused to criminal activities. Additionally, digital evidence from their phones supports the charges.

The trio used social media to intimidate potential victims. They displayed firearms in photographs to establish their criminal reputation. Meanwhile, this tactic was designed to facilitate extortion demands.

Law enforcement agencies are cracking down on social media crimes. Police monitor online platforms for criminal content regularly. In contrast, criminals continue using technology for illegal purposes.

The arrested youths will face charges under relevant sections. Extortion cases carry serious legal consequences in Indian law. On the other hand, displaying weapons publicly also violates firearm regulations.
