JAMSHEDPUR – A tragic road accident claimed one life and left another critically injured on Saturday evening in East Singhbhum district’s Chakulia area.

The incident occurred on Chakulia-Shishakhun main road near Joram village. Two friends were returning from a religious visit when disaster struck. Moreover, the accident happened during evening hours when visibility was decreasing.

The deceased has been identified as Neelu Sadan, aged 27 years. He was a resident of Galudih village in the region. Additionally, the injured person is Shivam Mandal, 30 years old from Patmahulia.

Both youth had visited Kanhaishwar hill for worship purposes. The hill is located in Jaynagar village under Chalunia panchayat. Furthermore, they were riding motorcycle number JH 05 DK 3004 during their return journey.

An unknown vehicle collided with their motorcycle near Joram village. The impact was severe enough to cause fatal injuries. However, the guilty driver immediately fled from the accident scene.

Local villagers quickly gathered at the accident site after hearing the crash. They immediately informed the police about the tragic incident. Moreover, residents provided initial assistance to the injured victims.

Police reached the spot promptly after receiving the information. Officers transported both victims to Chakulia Community Health Center immediately. Additionally, they used their Bolero vehicle for emergency transportation.

Medical staff at the health center examined both patients thoroughly. Doctors declared Neelu Sadan dead upon arrival at the facility. Meanwhile, Shivam Mandal’s condition remained critical requiring specialized treatment.

The injured youth was referred to a better-equipped hospital. His serious injuries necessitated advanced medical intervention immediately. Furthermore, doctors are monitoring his condition closely for recovery.

Police have registered a case regarding the hit-and-run incident. Officers are actively searching for the unknown vehicle involved. Moreover, they are investigating to identify the fleeing driver.

The accident has cast a pall of gloom over the village. Local residents are mourning the untimely death of the young man. Additionally, they are praying for the injured person’s quick recovery.

A reliable source mentioned that such accidents highlight road safety concerns. “Reckless driving and poor visibility contribute to such tragedies,” an expert observed about the incident.
