JAMSHEDPUR – A massive fire broke out at an Amul milk warehouse in Mango Simuladanga area on Saturday morning, with short circuit suspected as the cause and extensive property damage feared.

The blaze started around 7 AM at the warehouse facility. It is located along National Highway-33 in MGM police station area. However, the fire spread rapidly within minutes.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing flames engulf the entire storage facility quickly. Meanwhile, local residents gathered at the scene in large numbers. The thick smoke covered approximately two kilometers radius around the warehouse.

Police from MGM station rushed to the spot immediately. Moreover, fire department vehicles arrived within minutes of receiving the alert. The firefighting operation continued until 9 AM to bring the flames under control.

The warehouse operates under Gujarati Cooperative Milk Distribution Society Limited. Besides, the facility spans approximately one acre of land area. Social worker Deepak Ranjit confirmed these operational details about the storage unit.

Short circuit is being investigated as the primary cause. On the other hand, authorities have not ruled out other possibilities. The electrical systems in the warehouse are being examined thoroughly.

No casualties have been reported from the incident so far. However, products worth lakhs of rupees are feared destroyed. The exact extent of damage is still being assessed by officials.

Fire department officials are conducting a detailed investigation. In addition, police have started collecting evidence from the scene. The cause of the electrical malfunction is being determined through technical examination.

Amul is India’s largest dairy cooperative with extensive distribution networks. Furthermore, such warehouse facilities are crucial for milk product storage. The company maintains strict safety protocols at all storage locations.
