MEDININAGAR – The five-day Maha Yagna at the Mother Tara Shakti Durga Temple in Palamu started with a grand water procession on Wednesday. The sacred event was marked by traditional rituals and community participation.
Organized by the temple’s Maha Yagna Committee, the procession began at the temple site with music and fanfare. Led by former minister Kamlesh Kumar Singh, Ajit Singh, and main yajman Chandan Kumar Singh and his spouse, the procession traveled through the town to the Son River in Devari, where water was drawn amid Vedic chants performed by Yagna Acharya Bhairavnath. The collected water was ceremonially brought back to the temple for the installation of sacred kalashas.
Active Participation of Key Leaders
The Maha Yagna Committee’s efforts were spearheaded by BJP leader and former MLA Kamlesh Kumar Singh, alongside other community leaders such as Mithlesh Pathak, Surya Singh, and Chairman Prakash Lal Agarwal. Their collective efforts ensured the success of the initial rituals.

The event saw the active involvement of organizers like media in-charge Prince Sharma, co-secretaries Ajay Gupta and Manu Singh, and ceremonial heads Ravindra Kansyakar and Beat Baba. The grand religious event is set to culminate with a community feast on January 19.
