Abhay Singh leads meeting of 200 Akharas, calls for new Joint Committee of Akharas in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: More than 200 akharas of all the akhara committees of Jamshedpur held a meeting on Thursday to discuss the formation of a new joint committee for all the Akhara committees of Jamshedpur. The meeting was held under the leadership of Abhay Singh, the patron of Thakur Pyara Singh Dhurandhar Singh Akhada Samiti. The decision to form the new joint committee was unanimous.

During the meeting, Mr. Abhay Singh talked about the incident that occurred during the recent Ram Navami and the need to thwart such incidents in future.

He emphasized the need for peace and harmony in the city and called for the dissolution of the existing Central Ramnavami Akhara Committee, which he claimed misleads the administration, feeds on its politics and tarnishes the entire Hindu community of Jamshedpur.

He said that the way the district administration had banned DJs and trailers and had held the peace committee meeting at Sidhgora Town Hall on March 24, 2023, reeked of dictatorial attitude.

He said that when the proposal to ban DJ and trailers was made, none of the office-bearers, including the President of the Central Ramnavami Akhara Committee, opposed it and even agreed to it.

He said that it was only he who said on March 25 itself that we will accept all the conditions of the district administration or the government, except the condition of not using a trailer and DJ, which will not be accepted at any cost.

Despite this, no one from the district administration or the Central Ramnavami Akhara Committee or the Peace Committee showed any seriousness on the issue.

He said, as a result, on the day of Ramnavmi, the district administration deliberately tried to disrupt the akhara of Bal Mandir (Suman Agrawal’s at Sakchi) under the direction of the state government and seized the trailer and DJ and took them to the police station.

He said that the representatives of the Central Akhara Committee sitting in the police control room kept identifying people and misleading the administration.

He said that confusion was created and finally at the mediation of the MP, the issue was resolved.

Abhay Singh said that there is no justification for having such a central Ramnavami Akhara Committee, which misleads the administration, feeds on politics and at the behest of a minister, works to tarnish the entire Hindu community of Jamshedpur.

He said that the Chairman of the Joint Akhara Committee should be someone who is a licensee of an akhara.

He underlined the need to form a new joint committee for Akharas in the city.

The meeting was attended by representatives from various organizations, including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Durga Vahini, Hindu Peeth Sanatan Swabhiman Sangh, and Jamshedpur Hindu Morcha, along with office bearers and licensees of several akhara committees.

Representatives of several akhadas, including the Bal Mandir, Dwivedi Akhara, Telco, Jugsalai, Parsudih, Sitaramdera, Sakchi, Mango, Garhabasa, Tuiladungri, Baridih, Sidhgora, Bagunhatu, Bagunnagar, Mango, Kadma, Shastri Nagar, Jugsalai, Bagbeda, Sonari, and Bhalubasa were also present at the meeting.
