SCCI Calls for Immediate Action to Revamp Krishi Utpadan Bazar Samiti in Jamshedpur

Vice President Anil Modi Appeals to Sub-Divisional Magistrate to Address Market Committee Issues

Anil Modi, Vice President of Trade and Commerce at the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), has written to Sub-Divisional Magistrate Parul Singh to address the numerous problems facing the Krishi Utpadan Bazar Samiti in Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR – In an urgent bid to resolve the issues plaguing the Krishi Utpadan Bazar Samiti, a primary hub for the purchase and sale of food products in Jamshedpur and surrounding areas, Anil Modi, Vice President of Trade and Commerce at the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), has reached out to Sub-Divisional Magistrate Parul Singh.

In his letter, Modi highlighted several pressing concerns, including the deteriorated condition of shops and warehouses.

He also noted insufficient infrastructure and security lapses that pose significant risks to traders and impede business operations.

He pointed out that incidents of theft and the crumbling state of structures have become alarmingly frequent, instilling fear among the trading community.

To tackle these issues, Modi proposed the formation of a traders’ committee responsible for the maintenance and development of the market.

He also suggested constructing multi-storied shops to serve as offices and warehouses.

Additionally, he recommended establishing leased shops for long-standing traders.

He advocated for transforming the market committee into an attractive marketplace with amenities such as cold storage.

Improved sanitation facilities, repaired roads, and enhanced security measures through CCTV installation were also part of his recommendations.

Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, Modi urged the Sub-Divisional Officer to personally assess the market committee’s condition and take proactive steps towards resolution.

He further mentioned plans for an SCCI delegation to engage with the Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister to advocate for swift action on these pressing issues.

The concerted efforts by the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry demonstrate a strong commitment to revitalizing the Krishi Utpadan Bazar Samiti, which is crucial for fostering a conducive business environment in Jamshedpur.
