RANCHI – The Road Construction Department (RCD) of Jharkhand has announced a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the construction of a new flyover from Bahu Bazar to Patel Chowk in Ranchi.

The project aims to enhance connectivity by linking the Siramtoli-Mecon flyover at Patel Chowk and the Kokar-Yogda Satsang Ashram flyover at Bahu Bazar.

The flyover will span 1.25 km and is estimated to cost ₹174.81 crores, including GST, labor cess, and utility shifting costs.

The construction is to be carried out under an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract.

The project is expected to be completed within 13 months and will have a maintenance period of 10 years.

Bids are to be submitted online through the official e-tendering portal of the Jharkhand Government between May 6, 2024, and June 6, 2024.

The financial and technical bids must be submitted by June 6, 2024, and the online bids will be opened on June 10, 2024.

According to the RCD, the department reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids without providing a reason.

Enhancing Urban Connectivity

The proposed flyover is part of a broader initiative to improve urban infrastructure in Ranchi.

The strategic location of the flyover aims to alleviate traffic congestion and provide smoother transit between key areas in the city.

An official from the RCD stated, "This project is crucial for improving the traffic flow and reducing travel time across these busy intersections."

The initiative aligns with the government’s efforts to boost urban development and enhance the quality of life for residents.
