CHAIBASA – A significant Naxal plot to carry out destructive activities in West Singhbhum district was foiled by the police. The Naxals had planted an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) to harm security personnel, but a timely operation neutralized the threat.
The police team not only destroyed the IED but also recovered six arrows during the operation. The effort underscores the commitment of law enforcement to maintain peace in the Naxal-affected regions.
Extensive Search Operations Conducted
Search operations were carried out in several key areas, including Kuiida, Chhota Kuiida, Maradigi, Meralgada, Hathiburu, Tilaybeda, Boypaisang, Katamba, Bayhatu, Boray, Lemsadih, Tonto, Husupi, Rajabasa, Tumbahaka, Regada, Patatorb, Goburu, and Luiya.
According to intelligence reports, top Naxal leaders, including Misir Besra, Anmol, Mochu, Anal, Asim Mandal, Ajay Mahato, Sagen Angaria, and Ashwin, were actively moving in the Kolhan area to plan destructive activities.
Discovery Between Tumbahaka and Gulagulda
The IED was recovered during a search operation in the Tonto police jurisdiction, between Tumbahaka and Gulagulda. The alert police team also seized six arrows and ensured the IED was safely neutralized.
Police Efforts Avert Major Tragedy
Chakradharpur’s Superintendent of Police had earlier received credible information about the Naxal movement. In response, a joint operation was launched on January 10. This proactive approach by law enforcement averted a potential disaster and reinforced security in the region.
