RANCHI – Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Singh has ordered creation of a systematic plan for yearly wage increments under MGNREGA.
The minister reviewed ongoing projects recently. “We aim to match last year’s employment generation targets,” a senior official noted.
Project Implementation
The department will issue clear guidelines for soil works. This aims to improve rural connectivity.
Meanwhile, drinking water facilities remain mandatory at work sites. Regular monitoring systems will be strengthened.
Moreover, the minimum wage will be raised to Rs 350. Annual increment plans are being formulated.
Infrastructure Development
The ministry plans toilet construction at sports grounds. New changing rooms will also be added.
Furthermore, direct benefit transfers to vendors face scrutiny. Officials will develop new standard operating procedures.
Women Empowerment
The minister emphasized expanding Didi Bagiyas. A state-level nursery establishment receives priority.
In addition, nutritional gardens will be developed. Every Anganwadi center will get this facility.
The department also focuses on tribal housing schemes. Officials face action for delayed disbursements.
